Fran’s Pizza
About This Spot
Stepping into Fran’s Pizza feels like uncovering a cherished corner of Lorain that has quietly served up comfort and familiarity for decades. This is one of those neighborhood spots where the pace slows just enough for you to appreciate the warmth in the air—an unassuming carry-out joint that over the years has built a devoted local following through honest, hearty food and a kind of quiet consistency that you don’t find everywhere.
The atmosphere here isn’t about flashy décor or trendy vibes. Instead, it's the smell of freshly baked dough mingling with bubbling cheese and savory toppings that invites you in. There’s a timeless rhythm to Fran’s—where the buzz of the pizza oven and the friendly exchanges at the counter create a familiar soundtrack of a place that belongs to the community as much as the people who return to it time and again.
The menu is a reflection of that straightforward, no-frills spirit. Whether you’re craving a robust pepperoni and sausage combo piled high on thick, doughy crust or leaning towards a vegetable-loaded pie with mushrooms and peppers, the offerings feel thoughtfully constructed to satisfy without fuss. Each slice carries a sense of tradition, hinting at recipes and flavors handed down through years of doing exactly what they do best—crafting pizza that feels like home.
Regular visitors know this is more than just pizza; it’s a place where decades of shared meals have quietly become part of the local fabric. Fran’s isn’t about yesterday’s trends but today’s familiar, welcoming taste that has earned its place alongside beloved Lorain institutions. It’s the kind of spot that reminds you that sometimes the best discoveries are those rooted firmly in their community, patiently waiting to be enjoyed again and again.

Excellent large pepperoni, sausage, and onion pizza! New to Lorain and glad I found this joint. Give them a try, you'll love the food. They've been around forever!!

My favorite pizza place! It's carry out only. Very generous toppings. NOT a chain! I have been going there since I was a kid! The building isn't much to look at, don't be fooled! It still has the best pizza I have ever eaten!

I have been eating Yalas now Fran's and Eliseo's pizza for the last 40 years and I have to say that there is no other pizza, and I have had a lot of pizza, that even comes close to theirs! If you have not been graced with the YUMMYLICIOUSNESS of this pizza, you are seriously missing out! Give it a try! I promise you that you will not be disappointed!

Iconic Lorain pizza. The Mt. Rushmore of Lorain County pizza will most certainly include the legendary Eliseo DeSantis. Fresh, hot, delicious. Everything you want in a hometown pizza place. Pizza like this is the reason corporate pizza has such a tough time in this market. And I couldn't be happier.
